In one of my posts about the five senses we described the importance of the five senses in the development of early childhood, that is why the early childhood curriculum offers this unit every year. Besides, previously, we talked about the importance of visual development, and now it´s time to talk about another important sense: touch.
Sensory development is a very important process within the life of each person, it contributes in a positive way in the learning of the human being. Within this, there is the sensation, which is in charge of receiving information from the outside through our senses, we also have the perception, which plays a very important role because it processes the information in the brain to be transmitted. As discussed earlier, sensory development is fundamental in learning.
There are several conceptions about this. We have taken Piaget's theory to be able to analyze learning, above all, the sonoradiomotor stage that has to do with the senses in particular. There are several factors that can inhibit sensory development causing it to not occur in the best way in some people. Throughout this chapter will be made known what these are and why they affect in this process.
